Shockingly early start but we knew that even with a slight bit of respite with the clocks going back for the winter doom and gloom and was even sad enough to wait for 02:00 to see the time go back to 01:00 - Spring forward seems a long long way off. Easy journey to the airport which it should be at tha time of day with our usual cab drivers but he know sthe scores counts the cases and people in and resist and small talk in the small hours. Arrived at Heathrow Terminal 4 which was a new one for me but to celebrate I got a very early yellow card from Clare for queue jumping 50 people to check in. Not much on the other side of security even if it had been later but Spoons was there although at 0515 just breakfast no pint (I can't get a red this time of the day although with different company I would have joined the buch of early quaffers no doubt).

Onto the connecting plane just over to Amsterdam and told we may have a two hour delay which means we miss the big flight but the Pilot advised if the passengers don't mind we can take a different approach into Amsterdam, almost like ask the audience, so a big show of hands and we now have our bus fare home and we're off, very rough flight into Amsterdam into storm Edam or Gouda or something but back on track. Schiphol is massive but transited OK and onto the big plane, blagged a glass of fizz for Robys birthday much to the ire of others.
All settled in ... 'Is there a Dr on board' I don't think we have Daleks or Cybermen to worry about here but never a good annoucement. No takers so Clare stepped up and me and Robys did what we always do, quiet admiration and carried on as normal flicking between a whole variety of TV/Films I've never heard of. Various further announcements and medical people on board with the patient sitting next to me now with his trousers at half mast and a stewardess waving a 500ml empy water bottle for him to use and I suspect his aim my not be as steady as I would like.
Offloaded the chap now with a lot of medicial assistance and trousers now back up just the small matter of finding his case amongst the 250 others. We leave 3hrs later and the more mercenary people checking if a medical emergency counts a compo and it's no!.
Flight staff rightly thanked Clare and we are on our way. food was great, the TV stuff watched in one flight exceeded what I watched each month.
Cabin staff to seats NOW announced that I shook me from my TV Slumber but there were a few bumps and lumps but nothing major and we landed into Zanzibar, Visa & Passport controls not bad and we had a hotel taxi there waiting. Checked in to our place for the next five days we are staying in Freddie Mercury's family home.
Been a long day but the show must go on and wake up to this view which makes it all worthwhile.
